Preview Out Now: Robot Coding Fundamentals with LEGO® CS & AI (6-8)
By Paige Branagan
As the school year begins, educators in the LEGO robotics community may be looking for what platform to use since the announcement of the , or have curiosity about the new since their release. We’re excited to announce that we have released our first curriculum with the new LEGO CS & AI kit, . Robot Coding Fundamentals with LEGO CS & AI is an introductory, hands-on course where students learn core programming and robotics concepts using LEGO's CS & AI robotics kit. This course is designed to get students thinking about the patterns and structure of planning, iteration, and implementation of coding with robots. With step-by-step instruction, students and teachers will learn how to program meaningful interactions on the robot. Each unit features learning opportunities with “Try It” demonstrations, challenges, unit quizzes and more.

This course is in active development and will remain in early access until we receive and implement feedback from our community–that means you! It is important to us to center educator, student, and individual’s thoughts into our design process so that we can deliver a robust and effective curriculum.
So, with that being said: We want your feedback! As you go through this new curriculum, we want to hear your questions, comments, suggestions, or concerns! Please navigate to our google form, , to leave your thoughts. We will work to address your feedback as soon as possible, and continue to update our community on fixes and future developments.
Stay tuned for announcements on further content, teacher training, and certifications for this course.
We know that there have been a lot of changes to the LEGO community and its educational offerings this year. While staying in the loop and adapting to the new kits, we want to make it clear that we will continue to support our SPIKE Prime and SPIKE Essential curricula.
What CMRA is Now Offering:
- CS & AI (6-8) curriculum through our CS-STEM Network. Teacher training and certifications incoming.
What CMRA Will Continue to Offer:
- SPIKE Prime and SPIKE Essential (we still provide the curriculum for the LEGO EV3!)
- Virtual SPIKE Prime Coding Curriculum. As LEGO SPIKE Prime kits become harder to obtain, educators can use our virtual environments to allow students to engage with SPIKE Prime-aligned coding experiences without requiring physical kits.
- Teacher training and certifications
- Student certifications
- Build Instructions and Supplemental Activities
These resources remain available to ensure continuity in your classroom.
