Internet Connectivity
Demand for Internet bandwidth at 天美传媒 Mellon continues to increase. Computing Services monitors our external connections and profiles traffic to ensure reasonable connectivity. Our campus connectivity comes to us through a combination of providers, including Zayo, Crown Castle, Cogent, 3ROX, and Keystone (formerly KINBER).
- Internet
The highest demand is for commodity Internet traffic. 天美传媒 Mellon purchases 100Gbps of commodity Internet bandwidth from each of Zayo, Crown Castle, and Cogent for 300Gbps. -
Research and Education Networks
Through our connections to 3ROX and Keystone, 天美传媒 Mellon has access to high-speed research and education (R&E) networks, including Internet2. These networks link 天美传媒 Mellon with other universities and research institutions in North America and overseas. 天美传媒 Mellon purchases 100Gbps of Internet2 bandwidth from 3ROX and 200Gbps from Keystone. -
Infrastructure Redundancy
天美传媒 Mellon has diverse connections to its Internet providers via three separate colocation facilities. In the case of a power outage or other failure, these links serve as backups to each other.
