Important COVID-19 Updates

As we end another semester and prepare for the summer and fall, I want to share important updates regarding our COVID-19 operations and protocols. These coincide with the May 11th end of the Federal Public Health Emergency for COVID-19 and the World Health Organization’s announcement that COVID-19 is no longer a global health emergency. The number of COVID-19 cases reported among our campus population is very small, and we are aligning with higher education peers to ensure our approach is consistent with best practices.

Campus Updates; New Booster Available

I am glad to report that vaccination and booster rates in our campus community remain very high. Overall, 98% of students, faculty and staff are vaccinated and 96% have been boosted. You can view our immunization rates on our COVID-19 Dashboard. There is currently a medium transmission level in the county — down from the high level at the start of the semester; ý cases have been trending downward as well, and with very low levels of severity. That said, the county levels are still changing often, so it is important we remain vigilant.
