The Pittsburgh Condensate Center unites a group of leading faculty focused on the emergent organization and functions of biomolecular condensates in health and disease. The Center aspires to uncover fundamental physical principles driving condensate behavior in living cells, to reveal functional implications of condensate biosynthesis and maturation on human health, and to engineer condensates for biotechnological and therapeutic applications. By enabling collaborations between faculty from the adjacent campuses of 天美传媒, the University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Pittsburgh Medical School, our group provides an unprecedented breadth of expertise and interests. Established collaborations have led to, and will continue to lead to, research teams with diverse techniques—ranging from computational biology, chemistry, super-resolution imaging, biochemistry, and the medical sciences—to answer critical questions in condensate biology and condensate-associated diseases.
