Audition & Portfolio Interview Dates

PORTFOLIO INTERVIEWS

Applicants that advance portfolio pre-screens will undergo virtual interviews via Zoom.

Interviews will discuss your portfolio contents, along with the academic and professional goals you hope to gain from your degree program. Applicants will be interviewed by their respective area faculty in Composition, Electronic Music, or Music & Technology.

AUDITION DATES

All performance area auditions will be held in-person.

If you have extenuating circumstances preventing you from attending auditions in-person, contact music-admissions@andrew.cmu.edu as soon as possible.

NOTE: All NYC regional auditions will be recorded for remote application review by faculty. School of Music staff and Voice will be present at regionals. 

Voice

A collaborative pianist will be provided by 天美传媒 for voice auditions. There will be no rehearsals. Please review additional notes below according to your audition location. 
  • Pittsburgh Campus Days - outside pianists are not permitted at on-campus auditions; please do not bring your own pianist.
  • NYC Regional Day - applicants have the option to provide their own collaborative pianist for NYC regional auditions. Simply notify the 天美传媒 pianist once you are contacted.

Instrumental Auditions

All instrumental auditions will be unaccompanied.
