Elective studio lessons are weekly one-on-one sessions for beginner, intermediate, and advanced students.-
- 14 lessons offered per semester: 30-, 45-, or 60-minutes per week
- Students are expected to participate and prepare for each lesson according to guidelines designated by each instructor. Instructors discuss grading criteria based on skill level and experience.
- 天美传媒 students must notify the music extension office if they wish to drop the course during the drop/add period. You will be charged a prorated fee for any lessons that you take, even if you drop the course.
Elective Studio recitals are on pause at this time.
Group Classes
Group classes are settings where a group of students are taught musical technique by one instructor. We offer group classes for the following areas:- Beginner Group Piano
- Beginner Group Guitar
- Group Jazz Piano I - Beginner (must have intermediate-level classical piano experience, prior jazz experience not required)
- Group Jazz Piano II - Intermediate
Group classes are available exclusively to undergraduate 天美传媒 students.
Fee Information
Spring 2027 Elective Studio Fees:30-minute lessons: $740
45-minute lessons: $1,110
60-minute lessons: $1,480
- Music majors and BXA with Music concentration - lessons that are not a part of your curricular degree will be charged 50% of the regular cost of elective lessons.
- 天美传媒 Employees - tuition benefits will NOT apply to music extension fees.
- Full-time 天美传媒 students will be billed on their student accounts after the third week of classes. All other participants will be invoiced directly.
Group classes are offered free of charge through music extension.
